In order to further strengthen and clarify this policy we suggest:

  1. Split the second paragraph, headed Health, Wellbeing and Safety, into two parts. For the first two bullet points, replace the word “should:” in the explanatory sentence with “will be expected to:” .For the second two bullet points repeat the explanatory sentence but replace “should:” with “must:”
  2. In the first bullet point, add “public transport” before “services”.
  3. In the section headed “Flood Risk” conclude the final sentence of the second paragraph with the revised wording “and what the impact will be, both on neighbouring sites and any sites downstream”.
  4. In the third sentence in the section headed “Flood Risk” replace “shall” with “must”
  5. In the section headed “Sustainable Drainage” replace “should” with “must” in the third paragraph.
  6. In the section headed “Sustainable Drainage” include an additional bullet point in the list in the third paragraph. “(f) Ensure that there is no risk of increased flooding elsewhere.”
