Current Status Accepted

Historic England supports this policy in broad terms, but recommends that specific policy

requirements for different heritage asset types (listed buildings, scheduled monuments,

conservations areas, registered parks and gardens, etc.) are included to reflect the distinctive

statutory requirements and legal regimes relating to them. For example, it is required to

preserve or enhance the character or appearance of a conservation area (s.72 P(LB&CA)

Act 1990), while it is necessary to consider the desirability of preserving a listed building or

its setting or any features of special architectural or historic interest which it possesses

(S.66 P(LB&CA) Act 1990).
