Policy 6 - Wildlife and nature highlights the need for sustainable drainage and this should be welcomed. The need to retain surface water within each development is crucial and can easily be achieved with careful consideration. Adjacent to HO 153 in School Lane there is an existing pond, this can easily be extended or developed to provide not only a run off for surface water, but a useful attraction for wildlife and nature, and a useful community benefit for local residents both young and old. This could easily include a dipping pond, bug hotels, seating area, and hide for bird watching.  If this site were included within the plan, the local community could benefit from an already established feature, that has not been provided thus far.  West Kingsdown does not have this feature elsewhere and could easily provide an alternative recreational space as part of a wider development, to include picnic seating, trim trails and meadow planting. If amendment to the current submission for HO153 is made then a number of alternative suggestions to provide community benefits could be offered.  Is re-submission possible?
