I like this part of the Local plan very much. It is so important that we protect the Green Belt and areas of outstanding natural beauty: not only do these areas have a unique and rich character that make Sevenoaks such a nice place to live, they also tie the community together by providing a place where families can go on walks or where friends can meet each other walking their dogs. I do think the wording could be stronger however.

For instance consider the words 'where possible' at the end of the paragraph in policy 3 starting  'The landscape character of the District'. I think this part of the policy should be phrased more strongly, for instance: 'The landscape character of the District and the countryside, including areas of tranquillity, will be conserved and the distinctive features that contribute to the special character will be protected or enhanced.'
