In Paragraph 6.10, there is no explanation of what is meant by ¡°best¡± Would ¡°most suitable¡± be a more appropriate term? Should a cross reference to the criteria set out in Policy 13 be included? 33 Paragraph 6.14 lists the main uses identified in the NPPF which should be focused within town centres but omits commercial, residential and community uses which are also included in the NPPF. These should ideally be added for the sake of completeness.

For Swanley, so far all we have is moving WOLC out of the town centre and probably downsizing it as well. The town centre development is in the hands of the landowners who just want to maximise profit. The old working men's club was demolished some years ago and we still have the vacant land behind hoardings waiting for what to happen?? The other side of the road also seems to be closing down prior to redevelopment but nothing seems to happen. How does this make for a vibrant town centre? Also i

Even before this local plan proposal, our towns were already losing their distinctive individual flavours. Local retail facilities impact on the success of leisure resources as well as other local business. Parish Councils have their part to play and there should be a partnership approach between all levels of local government.

Given that many people living in Sevenoaks work in London, Sevenoaks Town Council considers it all the more important that the town¡¯s economy should be able to thrive, with vibrant Town (and Local) Centres able to face the challenges posed by online shopping. STC would aim to retain 70% of frontages as retail. STC notes the potential closure of banks in Sevenoaks Town Centre: imposing buildings that would need to be put to appropriate use. To help maintain a thriving town centre, STC belie

Any new leisure and recreational facilities have to be appropriately located. Currently there is a proposal for Rugby and hockey facilities at Broke Hill. This is on the very edge of Sevenoaks council's area and will be poorly located for most residents of Sevenoaks. Conversely, it is also located only 2 miles from an existing rugby club (Westcombe Park, who have facilities near Goddington Park). The council must look beyond its own boarders when considering where to located leisure and recreati

The Riverhead Aisher Way - Tesco has no special value to the neighbourhood and should not receive a special designation. It it very close to the diverse local parade at Riverhead which has a range of shops including a pharmacy, post office, convenience store, dry cleaners, coffee shop, newsagent. These have survived or even opened since Tesco arrived. This area at the Riverhead roundabouts does merit recognition. " Destination" supermarkets are losing favour as a means of shopping with the ris

We need to understand the impact of the proposed housing upon the community; all of our services plus local businesses and parking. Whilst it is appreciated that there is a need for additional housing, the current residents of Dunton Green need to be assured of the right balance. More information on the affected services needs to be provided.
