Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the above consultation. I am pleased to submit the Borough Council's response. Objectively Assessed Need We note that Sevenoaks District Council's identified housing need has seen an increase from the figure previously set out in the Regulation 18 consultation in October 2017, in order to reflect the Government's Standardised Methodology. The annualised figure of 698 is not dissimilar to that for Tonbridge and Malling at 696. Although we welcome the

Draft Local Plan July 2018 Providing for Housing Choices Provision of Affordable Housing Policy 9 - Provision of affordable housing

  • Comment ID: DLPP1148
  • Status: Accepted
  • Response Type: Observations
Affordable Housing Para. 5.21 states "It is considered that, subject to viability testing, a target of 40% affordable housing for all suitable sites is realistic and achievable in light of the evidence, and will go some way in meeting the identified affordable housing need." Tonbridge and Malling has concerns over including a target and percentages of affordable housing when this has yet to be subject to viability testing, which may demonstrate that such a figure is undeliverable.

Draft Local Plan July 2018 Supporting a Vibrant and Balanced Economy Economic Land and Development Policy 13 - Supporting a Vibrant and Balanced Economy

  • Comment ID: DLPP1150
  • Status: Accepted
  • Response Type: Observations
Economic Land and Development Tonbridge and Malling believe that it is currently unclear why Policy 13 includes the serving of Article 4 directions on all office accommodation on allocated sites, presumably to ensure the supply of economic land over the plan period when para. 6.10 states that "the draft Local Plan has identified a greater level of employment land than is needed" which suggests that the supply is not constrained. Clarification on the justification for this approach would be welc

Draft Local Plan July 2018 Protecting, Conserving and Enhancing Green Belt, Landscape and the Natural Environment Green Belt Policy 4 - Development in the Green Belt

  • Comment ID: DLPP641
  • Status: Accepted
  • Response Type: Observations
Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council welcomes the decision by Sevenoaks District Council to consider the release of land from the Green Belt in order to try and help meet the identified need. However it is not clear exactly which sites are under consideration or how their potential yield has been calculated. The table on pages 25-30 suggests 12 sites are under consideration for release from the Green Belt, however the table on page 33 only lists 9 potential sites. It is also unclear how the pot
