Policy 19 – Open spaces, sport and leisure Blossom's Park and the wildlife area on Land off St Johns Way don't appear to have been included. The designation contains some of the green space in Stangrove Estate, which is under currently consideration for housing.

I also agree with DLPP26, allotments are an important community outdoor asset and should be protected. I question how one proposed site is consistent with this part of the local plan. Broke Hill was an operational golf course until the council issued its call for sites. It is still manifestly a golf course with all associated facilities. Allotments are not specifically mentioned in the text as areas to be protected as important and valued leisure and open spaces. All allotments sites throughout the district should be protected with their current boundaries. Allotments provide, inexpensive access to productive food centred gardening. Gardening provides mental health and health benefits. Allotments provide gentle social interaction and encouraging community spirit for the lonely, isolated and bruised.
