I agree to this policy in principle that environment, lighting, listed buildings / monuments, characteristics, historical value etc. within a community should be protected. I also believe that a Design Panel could play a vital role in helping potential developers ensure that any developments enhance and support the local environment and community. Local distinctiveness needs to be studied and put into designs early on in the process, as it is not visible or apparent in the appearance of many previous large developments in the area. Sevenoaks is an area historically rich in high quality housing stock and as such, any development should include a high specification of quality and individual design.
