The AONB Unit supports the requirement for proposals within the AONB to needing to comply with the relevant AONB Management Plan however request that this is expanded to include the Management Plans associated design guidance. In addition to the Management Plan, the Kent Downs AONB Unit produces other guidance documents that provide design advice on a variety of topics including the Landscape Design Handbook, Managing Land for Horses, Farmstead Guidance and Rural Street and Lanes – A Design hand

Policy 15 – Design principles Edenbridge Town Council does not see the benefit of a Design Review Panel, as it merely adds an additional level of 'interpretation'. There will be an adopted Local Plan, developing Neigbourhood Plans and Design Statements, available to assist Planning Officers and the Development Control Committee reach decisions. Should this proposal be taken forward, the panel should have strong local representation.
