We support this policy. However there does not appear to be a map showing the various designated areas. While supporting the policy, it would be very useful to know where the areas are.

Section on 'Designated Areas' The Trust fully supports this policy. However, please could you reference the wording from the NPPF (particularly paragraph 174) re 'safeguarding' and 'ecological networks' e.g. 'Opportunities will be sought [...] extension, management and reconnection of sites, to form an ecological network'. This will make it clearer that this policy is a requirement of the NPPF.[Redacted].

2.19 Policy 6 concerns the safeguarding of wildlife sites and encourages new development to retain as many existing natural features as possible and provide ecological and habitat enhancements within new development. 2.20 Our client supports the wording of the draft policy and considers that retention of high quality landscapes and ecological corridors to be important within new development. It is suggested that additional wording is added to the draft policy to confirm that suitable mitig

Policy 6 ¨C in particular the obligation on new development to include new habitat and biodiversity features as advised by an ecologist and secured for the lifetime of the development. We would suggest additionally that the advice of a landscape architect be required when strategic sites are at issue, most especially given the fact that the district¡¯s ¡®green and blue infrastructure¡¯ is a fundamental feature of its distinctive character.

Policy 6 - Wildlife and nature highlights the need for sustainable drainage and this should be welcomed. The need to retain surface water within each development is crucial and can easily be achieved with careful consideration. Adjacent to HO 153 in School Lane there is an existing pond, this can easily be extended or developed to provide not only a run off for surface water, but a useful attraction for wildlife and nature, and a useful community benefit for local residents both young and old. Support. In particular the proposals about permeable surfaces, which is going to be a lot more important in future to prevent surface run-off overloading the drains, and to ensure more rain gets to be groundwater.

On behalf of Andrew Tickle Policy 6 relates to ¡®safeguarding places for wildlife and nature¡¯. This policy is poorly worded. Areas designated for their wildlife/habitat value have clear hierarchy which should be reflected in the policy wording. SAC¡¯s, for example, should have a different legal and policy framework to SSSI¡¯s that are not part of Natura 2000, or local designated sites. These differences should be clear. The section titled ¡®new development¡¯ should be amended as follows:
