Conservation Area Appraisals Consultation - October 2018

Public Consultation on draft Conservation Area Appraisals

19 October to 30 November 2018

Have you say in protecting and shaping the future of five of the District’s Conservation Areas

Draft Conservation Area Appraisal including management recommendations have been produced for the following five conservation areas:

  • Brasted High Street Conservation Area
  • Leigh Conservation Area
  • Seal Conservation Area
  • Shoreham Conservation Area (High Street,  Church Street and Mill Lane)
  • Swanley Village Conservation Area

National legislation defines conservation areas as areas of special architectural or historic interest, the character and appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance. The appraisals assess the historic and architectural character of the conservation areas and explain what makes them special. They also identify what issues each conservation area is facing and include proposals for their future management.

Each conservation area appraisal consists of three parts:

  • An appraisal of the character of each conservation area, including management recommendations;
  • Sevenoaks District Conservation Areas: An introduction to appraisals revised in 2018;
  • Conservation area design guidance.

You can view and download a copy of each draft conservation area appraisal below. We are keen to know your views on these documents. You can make comments by

  • submitting your feedback directly to conservation@sevenoaks.gov.uk;
  • Completing the on-line questionnaire below;
  • or posting them to Conservation, Planning Policy, Sevenoaks District Council, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks TN13 1HG.
